Salisbury, United Kingdom Wiltshire Council Full time

Summary

We are looking to recruit a Contract Surveyor to join our Housing Team.

**LIVE **WORK** COLLABORATE**

Our team takes pride in improving council homes, making sure that each one reaches the minimum Decent Homes Standard. Part surveyor, part project manager, you’ll be the link between the council, contractors, and tenants, coordinating, clarifying, and assessing the progress of planned improvements and high energy efficiency targets.

**About the role**

This is a satisfyingly broad role, stretching from interpreting and validating asset management data, conducting surveys, providing estimates, agreeing on programmes of capital investment with contractors, and preparing the monthly performance, progress, and financial reports for the Contracts Manager.

**About you**

Ideally, you will be degree qualified, however, if you have an NVQ Level 4 or you’ve gained equivalent expertise over the years in building construction, surveying, or project management-related fields, you’ll bring us proven experience in building repair, maintenance, and project management, of working with contracts and contractors and exposure to social housing management or construction environment.

Technically, your knowledge spans JCT and NEC forms of contract, HSE guidelines, HHSRS, building regulations, H&S legislation, and landlord and tenant law relating to housing works contracts and of course delivering building and refurbishment works.

We’re looking for a positive problem-solver who has proven they can cultivate great working relationships, defuse difficult situations and explain complex issues patiently.

If you’re also well organised, with strong research and analysis capability and ICT skills (we use MS Office and Asset Management data systems) then we’d like to talk to you.

**Interview dates to be confirmed upon shortlisting.
