Role Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership – Oversee and improve operational processes within the Infrastructure Engineering team, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and best practices.
  • Monitoring & Observability – Lead the strategy and implementation of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, optimising dashboards and alerting mechanisms across Grafana, Splunk, OpsGenie, and PRTG.
  • Incident Management & Response – Enhance incident detection and resolution capabilities, minimising downtime and improving system performance.
  • Automation & Process Optimization – Streamline operational workflows using scripting and automation tools to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Best Practices – Work closely with engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure operations align with business objectives and security standards.
  • Performance & Reliability – Maintain high-availability architectures, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Monitoring & Alerting Expertise – Proven experience with Grafana, Splunk, OpsGenie, and PRTG to drive observability and proactive system monitoring.
  • Infrastructure Operations – Strong background in managing operational processes within a complex infrastructure environment.
  • Automation & Scripting – Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Knowledge – Experience working in AWS-based environments with exposure to cloud-native operational tooling.
  • Incident & Problem Management – Strong understanding of incident response frameworks, problem resolution strategies, and operational best practices.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, translating operational insights into actionable improvements.
