The Role

As the agency expands its digital offering, the Performance Director will serve as the senior planning and activation role within their business unit. They will be the most senior day-to-day lead on their clients, accountable for campaign execution across all major platforms within Paid Social, Programmatic, Paid Search, and Retail Media.

Whilst the ideal candidate will possess strong cross digital experience, we will be prioritising those with strong Programmatic planning and activation expertise given the requirements of this particular set of clients.

Individuals in this role possess a deep wealth of digital planning & activation experience and a drive to elevate campaign delivery through sophisticated activation strategies, rigid process and a Performance Mindset that helps to empower those around you to exceed client's business objectives.

This role requires leadership and communication skills to actively engage with senior client stakeholders, T&Pm's client teams, the wider Performance Practice, GroupM Nexus, and media/technology owners to ensure the best data and technology is utilised in our overarching strategy and activation tactics.

You will confidently lead activation discussions with clients and internal teams, while also demonstrating management skills in developing Performance Activation Managers and Executives.

Collaborating closely with the Performance Business Director and Performance counterparts, the Performance Director will champion a truly innovative approach for clients. They will champion the continuous development and maturity of our activation strategies through a test-and-learn approach, fostering knowledge sharing and best practice documentation across the agency.

Your contributions will directly impact our Digital offering and support our mission in building the industry's most innovative, AI-driven Performance Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your channel-specific activation skillset across multiple platforms, using AI to drive client results.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leading a team of cross-discipline channel experts to build and deliver best-in-class Performance media plans.
  2. Accountable for ensuring all information is delivered by the client in order to build best-in-class Performance media plans – strong Programmatic experience is a must.
  3. Accountable for the delivery of best-in-class cross-channel media plans, in order to hit our client's business objectives.
  4. Accountable for the development and progress of Maturity Frameworks across Performance media channels.
  5. Accountable for the development of workflow tools and processes, between your Integrated Planning and Activation teams.
  6. Accountable for the delivery of all in and post-campaign analyses and reports to the highest quality.
  7. Work closely with key Media partners on product developments and account growth opportunities.
  8. Assist the Business Director and wider business with new business support and submissions when required.
  9. Accountable for full adoption of the different proprietary and third-party tools i.e. execution, tracking, optimisation, management and analytics whilst understanding the different strengths & limitations of each.
  10. Accountable for creating benchmarks across all platforms to help inform campaign measurement.
  11. Responsibility for the development of the entire Business Unit's team, with a clear split of roles & responsibilities by level.
  12. Responsibility to create career progression objectives for the Business Unit's Activation members, communicating a clear vision.
  13. Accountable for your team's financial accuracy through the planning & buying process, ensuring on-time and accurate billing of all Performance media delivery.

Skills and Experience

  1. Best-in-class knowledge and experience of setting up and activating campaigns (more heavily weighted to Programmatic).
  2. Ensure certifications across all activation platforms are completed and up-to-date.
  3. Extensive experience of client servicing is a must.
  4. Track record of line management and team development plans.
  5. Strong project management skills.
  6. Efficient working style.
  7. Ability to delegate and empower people.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across client teams and broader agency.
