As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a key driver in fostering a robust financial controls environment, promoting process efficiency, and supporting business decision-making. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory and organisational standards, and the continuous improvement of financial processes.
This is a high-profile role that requires technical accounting excellence, a forward-thinking mindset, and the ability to collaborate with senior leadership to shape the financial future of our division.
Principle Accountabilities
- Deliver Excellence: Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Streamline Processes: Lead the development of efficient, automated financial workflows to improve reporting cycles and operational efficiency.
- Drive Insights: Collaborate with FP&A to build insightful management reporting packs, providing analysis to guide strategic decision-making and performance reviews.
- Lead Audit Readiness: Ensure timely preparation of fully audited, accurate statutory accounts and seamless audit processes with no critical findings.
- Optimise Financial Systems: Champion advanced tools like Power BI, automating reconciliations and enhancing reporting accuracy.
- Ensure Compliance: Manage regulatory requirements, including VAT submissions, internal controls, and cybersecurity measures.
- Collaborate and Mentor: Partner with shared services, divisional FP&A, and IT teams while mentoring junior staff and promoting financial literacy across the division.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with solid post-qualification experience in a senior accounting role.
- Experience in optimising financial processes and systems is essential.
- PLC reporting exposure including IFRS (desirable).
- Advanced Excel user with experience in financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to constructively challenge the status quo to drive improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of financial systems such as Business Central, AMOS, Veson, Opera, Power BI, O365 suite, CoreStream or similar tools.
