PV Engineer/ Technician Solar Farm Salary: £45,000 £50,000 per year (DOE) Job Type: Full-time, permanent Location: Sites across the UK (region-based) Schedule: MondayFriday with a paid weekend rota (approx.Interested in this role You can find all the relevant information in the description below.1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight stays Why this is a great opportunity Our client is one of Europes leading solar-energy firms, responsible for building, running, and maintaining large-scale solar farms across the UK and further afield.With a global track record of over 500 solar projects and more than 5.6 GW of installed capacity worldwide, our client takes a forward-looking approach to renewable energy and invests in its teams.Working with them means you contribute directly to the green energy transition in the UK a meaningful role that helps power communities and supports long-term environmental goals.What Youll Do Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC & DC) Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as needed Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, using industry-standard testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, etc.) Produce clear, accurate site reports after each visit via the online reporting system Conduct job-specific risk assessments, report near-misses, and ensure strict health & safety compliance Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors when required Maintain detailed electrical test records, suitable for audits Work occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay) What Theyre Looking For? Essential 3 years experience on utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV O&M projects Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations C&G 2382-18 C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification) HV AP qualification Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Solid understanding of AC & DC systems and experience using testing tools Full UK driving licence Desirable Harness-trained (or willingness to complete training) First Aid and Fire Marshal training IOSH Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to train) Experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery-storage integration Familiarity with high-voltage systems (33 kV) and associated switching / maintenance Benefits & Perks Bonus up to 12.5% (performance / KPI based) Private pension with employer contributions up to 6% Full private health cover (option to extend to family) Life insurance at 4 annual salary Access to perks via employee benefit platform 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Structured training and career-development opportunities Be part of a meaningful mission supporting the UKs shift to renewable energy Why would you choose our client?
