Job Title: Design Technician Location: Colchester Contract: Permanent We are currently recruiting for a rapidly expanding renewable energy company which develops, designs, constructs and maintains renewable energy solutions. Their work is is primarily ground mount and rooftop solar and Battery Storage Systems. As a Design Technician you will be working on a variety of exciting renewable projects, from commercial & industrial rooftop projects to large scale ground mount solar farms and Battery Storage Systems. The main role will be to assist with the preparation of design / planning documentation. The role responsibilities for a Design Technician would be: Comfortable to operate well under pressure, while proactively uses their own initiative and take responsibility for their own work. To work within a sociable team environment to prepare feasibility and conceptual site layouts and to follow a process through to full detailed and technical design drawings and documentation for various solar rooftop and ground mount projects. To prepare Single Line Diagrams and PVSyst reports. To manage design projects from feasibility to handover drawings, ensuring all work is carried out precisely, efficiently and within set timescales. Attend and participate in team meetings as and when required. Willing to undertake roles as their career develops The ideal candidate for the Design Technician role would have: Experience with AutoCAD and has had training Basic PVsyst experience Basic helioscope experience Minimum of 1-year onsite experience Enthusiastic about renewable energy and the impact it is having on society Due to location of premises and work involved, the candidate must hold a driving licence.
