We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Workshop Technician to join our Water Recycling Maintenance Services team and play a vital role in optimising and maintaining our critical assets. As a Maintenance Workshop Technician, you’ll be responsible for designing, machining, fabricating, and welding both new and existing assets to reduce operational costs and improve equipment reliability. You’ll work closely with the Workshop Team and internal customers to deliver high‑quality solutions, drive efficiencies, and support best practice across our operations. This is a varied and rewarding role that blends technical engineering, problem‑solving, and collaboration. Key responsibilities: Carry out service, repair, refurbishment, and fabrication work on assets (e.g., gearboxes, pumps, screens) Machine new parts to required tolerances using lathes, milling machines, and drills Design and fabricate bespoke parts as needed Conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions for recurring equipment issues Support performance monitoring and suggest process improvements Deputise for the Maintenance Workshop Supervisor when required Assist with workshop inspections and routine maintenance checks Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and policies Mentor new employees and apprentices, and share technical knowledge What does it take to be a Maintenance Workshop Technician? Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ level ONC/BTEC or City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent) Welding and fabrication experience on industrial plant and equipment (Essential) Proven experience in an industrial/workshop environment – ideally machine shop trained – competent in using manual lathes, milling machines, radial drills (Desirable) Good knowledge of the maintenance and overhaul of industrial pumps, gear boxes, plant and equipment (Essential) SAP and IRIS knowledge (Desirable) Key Behaviours: Honest, driven, and customer‑focused Proactive with a can‑do attitude Committed to continuous improvement and efficiency As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to: Full private healthcare with no excess 25 days leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays, with flexibility for religious holidays A flexible working culture Competitive pension scheme – we double‑match your contributions up to 6% (18% Combined) Life Assurance at eight times your salary Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary Bonus Scheme Discounts and flexible benefits to support your wellbeing Paid time off for physical and mental health Excellent Family Leave package Why Anglian Water?
