There are two types of Finance Assistants.Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.The first type is the "I'll just quietly process transactions until the end of time" type.The second is the one who actually cares that money goes where it's supposed to go, that numbers add up, and that deadlines aren't just polite suggestions.If you're the second type, keep reading.What you'll actually be doing:Processing payments and receipts across multiple countries and currenciesBanking cash and cheques (yes, apparently cheques still exist)Supplier payments, customer refunds, reward vouchersDirect Debit collectionsExpense claim processingReconciling credit card returnsBank recsGeneral admin (filing, emails, phone calls - the glamorous stuff)Jumping into other finance functions when people take holidays or are off sickWhat they need from you?They don't want a financial wizard or someone who will "bring strategic transformation to the cashbook function."
