They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Basingstoke on a permanent basis.The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar1-5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation positionStrong hands-on skills with testing and developmentProficiency with 3D CAD software- ideally SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD etc.Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculationsAny previous experience working with machinery and automated systems would be beneficialBe able to work well individually as well as part of a teamHave excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Be keen to develop with a company long termExcellent proficiency with Microsoft OfficeThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Working within the current engineering team with other Design EngineersSeeing through projects from concept through to completionWorking in the R&D team on testing and developmentUsing CAD for concept design and producing technical xwwtmva drawingsCreating component and assembly models to satisfy customer requirementsLiaising with manufacturing providersProducing the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
