Design Engineer - Eastbourne - Textiles £28,000 - £30,000| Depending on experience A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer join a UK known defence manufacturer in the Eastbourne area. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and creative industry Role & Responsibilities: Design and develop textile-based products from concept to production. Select materials, fibers, and fabrics appropriate for performance, sustainability, and cost. Translate design briefs into 2D/3D models and prototypes using CAD software. Conduct product testing and refine designs based on performance data and user feedback. Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to optimize for scalability and production. Ensure compliance with industry standards and sustainability practices. Stay informed about textile innovations, emerging technologies, and design trends Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Degree in Design Engineering, Product Design, Textile Engineering, or related field. Experience in product development, preferably within textile-based industries. Strong knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and material properties. Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Experience in prototyping, pattern making, and technical drawing. Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chains related to textile products. Excellent communication and project management skills.
