We specialise in helping staff build long-term careers in education through ongoing training and dedicated support.The Cover Supervisor RoleWe are looking for confident and motivated Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Sunderland. You will manage the classroom during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work and ensure pupils remain engaged and focused throughout the lesson. This role would be suitable for graduates, individuals with a care background or someone who wants to start their career in education.Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor Deliver pre-planned lessons to secondary pupils across a range of subjects.Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.Support pupils with their learning and maintain a productive environment.Provide accurate feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson. What We’re Looking For in a Cover Supervisor Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead a classroom.Experience working with young people (youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.).Ability to remain calm, professional and consistent.Willingness to complete mandatory safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS. Desirable Skills of a Cover Supervisor Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant.Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.A background in education, youth services or relevant subjects.Access to transport for travel to multiple school sites.
