Job description SEMH Learning Support Coach – Alternative Provision, PorchesterLocation: Porchester Start Date: 13/10/2025 Pay: From £ Contract: Supply – Potential Temp to Perm Prospero Teaching are working with a nurturing alternative provision in Porchester that supports secondary-aged students with high anxiety and complex SEMH needs. They’re looking for compassionate, resilient Learning Support Coaches to join their dedicated team and make a genuine impact. This isn’t just a support role-it’s a chance to be a trusted adult for young people who’ve struggled to find their place in mainstream education. You’ll help them feel safe, heard, and capable of growth. Who Fits This Role? We’ve seen brilliant success with people from backgrounds such as: Psychology or counselling Youth work or mentoring Sports coaching Care or social work Experience with SEN/SEMH What You’ll Be Doing Supporting students with high anxiety and SEMH needs Using trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour Building consistent, respectful relationships Encouraging emotional regulation, self-esteem, and learning engagement What We’re Looking For A patient, empathetic, and flexible mindset Experience with SEMH, anxiety, or communication challenges is a plus Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude A commitment to helping students succeed-especially when it’s tough Requirements Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) References covering the last 24 months What We Offer Free accredited training in safeguarding and behaviour support Ongoing guidance from our friendly team A role that’s deeply rewarding and genuinely life-changing Ready to Be That Person?
