Behaviour Support Assistant – Specialist Provision Location: South Shields Contract: Full-time, Term-time + Training Days Start Date: ASAP Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experienceDo you stay calm when things feel challenging? This Behaviour Support Assistant role is all about consistency, patience and helping pupils feel safe enough to learn.You’ll be supporting children and young people who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, or engagement in school. It’s not always easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding.Your role will include Supporting pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation throughout the school day Helping pupils engage with learning in a structured, supportive way Using agreed behaviour strategies consistently Supporting transitions, routines and unstructured times Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff We’re looking for someone who Has experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs Is calm, resilient and reflective Can build positive relationships without raising their voice Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team Why this role matters You’ll be a steady presence for pupils who need it most Strong staff support and clear behaviour frameworks Training provided to help you grow in the role All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
