School Science Technician (within Physics) Based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham£ - £16phYour newpanyA Grammar Secondary School in North Birmingham is looking for an enthusiastic Science Technician to join their dynamic science department within Physics for a long term sickness cover. The role is a long term cover from am - pm and is every Monday to Friday and term time only. Your new roleThe role is to support teaching staff in the development and education of children, including the provision of specialist technical skills and knowledge. Key duties will include:Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessonsSupporting teachers in delivering engaging experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and PhysicsEnsuring health and safety standards are upheld at all timesAssisting in the development of new practical activities and demonstrationsManaging stock levels and order supplies as neededWhat you'll need to succeedYou will need to have experience in a lab environment (school or industry) with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will have a proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team, You will also have recent and satisfactory references that Hays can obtain for you.
