Teaching Personnel are working with a client school in north-central Birmingham who are looking for a Science Technician to join their growing and thriving Scienc department with an immediate start.

As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for providing the equipment and resources for these practical lessons. You may also have to demonstrate or supervise these experiments in class it is your responsibility, alongside the Science Teacher, toensure that H&S guidelines are followed at all times. Science Technician duties also include managing the prep room inventory, providing in-class support (during non-practical lessons when required) and ensuring health and safety is always followed. You mayalso be asked to carry out duties outside of your typical role where required, such as engaging in whole-school activities, break duties and school trips.

The Science Technician role:

- Preparing practical lessons requested by the Science Teacher
- Demonstrating and supervising experiments in the classroom - Managing the Science prep room and resources
- Engaging in wider-school activities to make education more fun and accessible
- Providing in-class support when available
- GCSE or equivalent level qualification at Grade C or above, in English and Maths.
- Degree in a Science based qualification
- Previous experience in a laboratory or technical environment would be advantageous
- Applicants will need to demonstrate good communication and sound ICT skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
