Role: Teaching Assistant Location: M21 - Chorlton Start Date: ASAP Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:00 Pay: £14-£16 per hour Contract: Full-time, Temp to PermA well-resourced, inclusive primary SEN provision in the M21 area is seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their KS1-KS2 support team. This Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to work with pupils who have complex needs, including autism (ASD), social-emotional challenges (SEMH), ADHD, and communication difficulties. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence.This Teaching Assistant role is full-time, long-term, and offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing stability and the chance to grow within a supportive SEN team. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver personalised learning interventions and support behavioural and emotional regulation.Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEN needs.Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons as required.Support the development and implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans.Use Team Teach or equivalent techniques to safely manage challenging behaviours.Build trusting relationships with pupils, modelling positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.Monitor pupil progress, record observations, and provide feedback to teachers.Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can participate in class and school activities.Support transitions between lessons and activities, ensuring pupils feel safe and supported.Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to maintain consistent support.Maintain a structured, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).Team Teach or equivalent training for safe behaviour management.Experience supporting primary pupils with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or other complex needs.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a nurturing approach.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive SEN team.Full-time availability Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:00, ASAP start.This Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone committed to making a lasting impact, bringing patience, creativity, and structure to help pupils thrive.
