You’ll work directly for our President of US operations whilst helping to build one of the fastest-growing recruiting companies in the US. The responsibilities of the HR & Payroll Specialist position are as follows: Preparing and processing semi-monthly payroll for Californian customers, and any multi-state employees using ADP timely and accurately. Process and submit employee stock transactions subject to gains and related tax withholding through ADP. Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs. Calculating wages, overtime allowances, holiday entitlement, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, bonuses etc. Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions in accordance with SOX requirements Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns. Collecting timesheet data and payroll information. Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations and payroll journal entries. Preparing payroll-related financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes. Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management. Process new state registrations. Prepare and reconcile year-end reporting preparations such as W-2. Continuous process improvements within the Company’s payroll function. The skills/experience required for the HR & payroll specialist position are as follows: Strong background in direct payroll processing. Experience using ADP systems. Demonstrated knowledge of local California state, and federal payroll tax laws and regulations. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices. Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams. Exceptional time management and project management skills. Must have sound interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytic skills. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred but not essential). CPP certification (preferred but not essential) The personality traits that we are looking for the HR & payroll specialist to exhibit are: Ability to succeed in a rapid-growth, energetic, and agile environment. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Commitment to integrity and always doing what’s right with the confidence to challenge upwards. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously. Can produce top-quality work with little oversight. Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Direct and candid and willing to professionally challenge the status quo to drive the business forward whilst maintaining payroll compliance Ambitious approach with the drive to grow with the organization The successful HR & Payroll Specialist will be offered the opportunity to work directly with the US President of Operations in building an exciting, rapidly growing company.
