Nursery Practitioner Westminster ASAP Start £110 per day ROLE SUMMARY: We are a co-educational, non-selective independent primary school is situated in Westminster. We are currently looking to appoint an experienced, well-qualified and reflective Early Years Practitioner ASAP. We have a passion for early years and are keen to support other colleagues to develop and improve across all Key Stages. We take great pride in developing our pupils into happy, confident, and kind individuals ready to meet the challenges of the next phase in their educational journey. Children's happiness and wellbeing are at the forefront of what we do and our nurturing environment allows pupils to develop confidence in their surroundings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To deliver educational programmes to children to support their development and learning through effective planning that identifies the intent of these programmes and successful implementation strategies that demonstrate excellent teaching quality To design and deliver a range of learning opportunities that can have impact on children's progress and shape their dispositions and attitudes towards learning To use effective tools to monitor children's progress, using the EYFS framework and use this information to report on the progress they are making in their learning To conduct evaluations that inform and shape planning (intent) and delivery (implementation), evaluating the impact of teaching on children's learning and promoting the characteristics of effective teaching and learning To provide opportunities for parents to extend their children's learning THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Qualifications The post holder will: hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education have experience of working with young children, particularly aged 2-5, and families, identifying support for developing children's learning have experience of working as part of a team ideally, have experience of teaching and delivering planning learning experiences Knowledge and Understanding The post holder will have: a good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and relevant current legislation a good understanding of the developmental needs of young children, particularly 2-5 year olds a good understanding of what constitutes a quality Early Education environment an up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures a good understanding of how to make accurate assessments of children's learning and development and then devise appropriate next steps to their learning a commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practice with children, families, colleagues and the community Skills The post holder will have: good observational and assessment skills and the experience of maintaining accurate learning records for children the ability to communicate effectively, with parents and colleagues good teaching skills, including scaffolding, demonstrating and role modelling positive interactions with children good planning skills We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references. This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
