Specialist Autism Support Assistant – (Secondary) Location: Sunderland Start: January Contract: Full timeWe’re looking for a Specialist Autism Support Assistant who can support older pupils with ASD, sensory needs and communication differences. The school offers a highly structured, low-arousal environment and values staff who can offer calm reassurance and clear direction.Role highlights: • Supporting pupils with ASD in lessons and during transitions • Helping deliver personalised learning plans • Using visuals, schedules and communication tools • Supporting sensory regulation and low-demand routines • Encouraging independence and confidenceYou’ll bring: • Experience with autism or complex needs • A reflective, calm and positive attitude • Strong teamwork and communication skillsAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
