Caretaker

We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Facilities sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Caretaker to join a lovely school based in Sevenoaks. Salary: £23,801 - £24,166 + Great Benefits | 3 shift patterns between 6:30am - 8:00pm Caretaker’s Core Duties To open and close the school and be responsible for general security To ensure the gym area and floors are clean To meet all contractors and visitors and keep a record of work being carried out To ensure all contractors are DBS checked and comply with safeguarding of children To ensure all legislative prosses are met and recorded (Asbestos Register) To check in all goods and distribute them accordingly To monitor the heating, lighting, fuel usage and re-order when required To maintain records and read all meters To be ensure the maintenance and tidiness of footpaths, driveways, fences, and grass areas To report all matters affecting Health & Safety and carry out risk assessments as required To maintain and repair furniture and buildings and record as required To clean and provide security for building lettings To oversee furniture requirements for events (exams, training, parents’ evenings etc) To test fire alarms and emergency lighting and maintain a record To assist with decorating, plumbing and general handy-work To carry out litter patrols each day To replenish paper towels, soap and toilet paper as necessary To comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety, and COSSH statutory requirements To be a school first aider (training provided) To drive school vehicles - D1 licence required Caretaker’s Skills Required Experience as a Caretaker / Site Manager Experience with DIY, buildings & ground maintenance, decoration, cleaning, and repairs Experience working in a school or further educational establishment - desirable Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and legislations Experience with risk assessments (desirable) Experience with IT Current DBS certification - beneficial Current D1 vehicle licence
