The Opportunity Ellwood Atfield is recruiting for a Public Affairs Manager with a brilliant charity during a time of growth on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will manage their public affairs function, working on their influencing strategy and implementing this to ensure strong relationships with Westminster and other devolved assemblies. This role offers a salary of £40,000 to £44,000 and can be worked on a mostly remote-working basis; while there are no 'set office days', you will be expected to attend in-person events and meetings as required, so ideally you will be located in or around London. Key Responsibilities Developing their political strategy to maximise political influence across the UK, with a focus on Westminster and Whitehall, in addition to the devolved assemblies Horizon-scanning, monitoring, and responding to developments in politics, briefing colleagues on these, in addition to managing the relationship with external political monitors Supporting the Events Manager on planning and delivery of online and in-person events Developing a contact programme with political stakeholders and supporting colleagues in devolved nations with their own, leading the influencing process in the four nations Leading on stakeholder engagement and raising the charity's profile with key stakeholders, including ensuring their presence at party conferences Raising the charity's profile and ensuring positive reputation amongst policymakers Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the progress of the charity's public affairs work Line management, development, and support for the Public Affairs Officer. Attitudes, Values, and Skills Required A strong, proven track record in public affairs and experience in influencing Bills A strong understanding of the legislative process in Westminster and devolved administrations Previous experience in line managing or supporting junior colleagues Previous experience in organising political and parliamentary events To apply, please submit your CV through this advert.
