Job description 📌 Project Accountant - Leading Environmental Consultancy | Gauteng, South Africa Are you a detail-driven Project Accountant who thrives at the intersection of finance, project delivery, and operational excellence? An established international environmental consultancy is looking for a proactive finance professional to play a key role in strengthening project financial management across their growing business. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers and senior leadership, providing accurate financial insights, enhancing reporting capability, and ensuring robust controls are consistently applied. You'll take ownership of key processes across budgeting, forecasting, job costing, cash flow management, and system optimisation, becoming the go-to super user for the ERP job costing module. What You'll Be Doing:Driving the development and automation of monthly financial and project reportsManaging Work-in-Hand reporting and supporting budgeting & cost-control processesAuthorising project purchase orders and ensuring procurement complianceImplementing and improving subcontractor and cash-payment proceduresMaintaining project costing tools and templates for pricing and tendersMonitoring project risks and highlighting variances to senior finance leadersLeading monthly project write-off reviews and supporting internal auditsPartnering with project managers to maintain accurate, up-to-date financial data What We're Looking For:10+ years' experience in project accounting, cost control, or quantity surveyingStrong financial reporting, reconciliation, and project management capabilitiesExcellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectivelyExperience with Microsoft Business Central and BI tools (advantageous)A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong attention to detail Interested?
