Road Freight Operator – European & International FreightLocation: LeedsHours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekSalary: Competitive + Annual BonusHoliday: 25 days + bank holidays We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator with strong knowledge of European, international, and groupage road freight to join our clients close-knit team. This is a hands-on operational role that involves end-to-end management of road freight shipments across Europe. You’ll be working in a busy, fast-paced environment, coordinating deliveries, liaising with overseas partners, managing documentation, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout.Key Responsibilities:Plan and manage groupage, full loads, and express deliveries to and from European destinationsLiaise with round-trip drivers and source one-way international equipmentNegotiate with international and domestic hauliers to secure transportMaintain regular contact with overseas agents and partnersAllocate domestic collections/deliveries to in-house teams and third-party hauliersHandle customer queries and provide accurate operational updatesManage KPIs for major clientsHandle customs formalities including export/import declarations, GVMS, and NCTSProvide spot quotations and charge files for invoicingSupport and oversee a Junior OperatorComplete data entry and documentation accurately and efficientlyRequirements:Demonstrated experience in European road freight operationsStrong knowledge of groupage and full load planningIn-depth understanding of customs procedures and international freight documentationFamiliarity with the import/export marketStrong administrative skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsCommercially aware and customer-focusedFull UK driving licence (ideal due to location)What We Offer:25 days holiday + bank holidays Annual performance-based bonusFree on-site parkingFlexible working hours: start between 7:00am and 9:00amOne-hour lunch breakSupportive working environmentOpportunities for development and progressionPlease note: this is an on-site role, remote working is not availableWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
