Description Senior Structural Engineer Newcastle Salary up to £45k Calibre Search are working alongside a major UK-based multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy who have been providing high-quality services to their clients for over years. Their growing Newcastle office has opportunities for expansion to meet the current healthy forward workload generated by the impetus for growth in the UK within the commercial, retail, industrial and housing sectors. Due to a healthy forward workload, they are currently looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Newcastle Office and work in one of the UK's leading private Engineering Consultancies. Working for clients on a variety of projects spanning commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors, you will work closely with other office disciplines to provide integrated solutions on high profile multi-disciplinary projects. As well as having the ability to manage projects, providing support, mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues, you will take initiative and manage your own workload/deadlines. The role will require you to review documents, designs and drawings completed by team to ensure consistent high quality and compliance with design standards, industry best practice, contractual obligations and client expectations. Possessing a minimum of ten years UK industry experience, you will be able to act as Technical lead on projects large and small. You will liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives. You will carry out structural engineering assessment and inspections of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber. Undertaking analysis and design using a range of software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and FastTrack Building Designer, you will be responsible for preparing high quality technical reports including structural surveys and ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc.) is maintained. As a Chartered or near Chartered Engineer, you have varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types and be experienced in the use of Eurocodes. Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills are required, as is experience of structural analysis design and software essential.
