Do you want to work in London? If so then this could be the job for you.One of our clients have a new position available, they are looking for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. The successful candidate should be someone that is highly motivated and who will join their team to share the vast improvements that they have achieved and will continue to achieve in their emergency department.Clinically the post holder will be expected to see and manage patients in all areas of the department i.e. majors, resus, the urgent care centre, the clinical decision unit and paediatrics. This offers the opportunity to gain experience with a wide and varied cohort of patients.They will also be required to supervise the more junior doctors. This is both clinical, i.e. giving advice re patient management and also to assist with managing overall patient flow within the department in adherence to the national 4 hour target.The successful candidate will work with other doctors on the rota to provide 24 hour care – seven days /week. The Trust also offer weekly middle- grade teaching.In return they expect the candidate to have the following:Full registration with the general medical councilCompleted at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in Emergency medicine or have equivalent experience and competenciesFamiliar with and be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of the major principles of the GMC's Good Medical PracticeCompletion of F2 competency or equivalent experience or at least 2 years post qualification clinical experienceAt least two years or more working in Emergency Medicine.Experience working at registrar level in an Emergency DepartmentUp to date ATLS, APLS, ALSThe hospital has led the way in Ambulatory Care, with the establishment of a new service that has received national acclaim. The Emergency Department has a Clinical Decision Unit with well-established pathways and a multidisciplinary team.
