We have been assigned by an NHS Trust in the West Midlands to recruit to their Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine vacancy on a permanent basis. The Trust has an annual turnover of over £950 million, approximately 10,000 staff, and it see over 500,000 patients a year. Our client has a world leading reputation with both sites having two of the highest clinical ratings in the country, rated second and third best Trusts for clinical performance, quality of care and safety. In addition, our client were awarded the status of a generic Biomedical Research Centre by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) in 2006 for its excellence in translational and clinical research – one of only 5 in the UK.The duties of the Specialty Doctor will include: providing full shift 24 hour cover for the Emergency Department, 7 days per week supported and supervised by ED consultants either directly or remotely, have regular weekly teaching sessions delivered by consultants to including mortality and morbidity meetings where you'll be encouraged to participate in quality improvement projects, will be allocated a clinical supervisor at the start of your time in the ED who will complete your induction and you will have the opportunity to complete Work Placed Base Assessments in line with your training contemporaries.
