Controls & Automation Engineer 3–6-month contractRate £42.50 - £47.50 p/h DOE (outside IR35)Blackburn Burnley Bolton Preston Bury RochdaleWater / Process / Automation / Siemens TIA PortalI am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in the Northwest. They operate in systems, and design of complex projects across water & process industries. Due to ongoing projects, they are looking for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer with a strong experience within the water industry to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3-6 months.For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties: Develop automation concepts and control strategies for a wide range of industrial processes and applications.Produce functional design specifications, I/O schedules, and software documentation.Troubleshoot and debug automation systemsDesign and program PLC, HMI and SCADA systems to meet project specifications and client requirements.Support the internal panel build and electrical design teams with automation input and technical expertise. The successful contractor will need to have the following attributes: Highly technical, with strong understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial communication networksStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to diagnose complex automation issues quickly.Strong knowledge and hands on experience using Siemens TIA PortalAbility to perform advanced fault-finding, including logic tracing, signal diagnostics, network analysis and system performance tuning.
