An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to lead and develop a new Private Client department within a well-established and expanding legal practice. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape the department's future, build and mentor a team, and progress into partnership for the right candidate.The Role As Head of Private Client, you will lead the development and growth of the department, manage a varied caseload of complex matters, and provide strategic direction for expansion.Key Responsibilities: * Lead, build, and mentor the Private Client team * Manage a full range of private client matters, including Wills, Trusts, Probate, Estate Administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection * Provide high-quality client care and service from initial instruction to completion * Contribute to business development, networking, and marketing initiatives * Maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers, and professional contacts * Supervise junior solicitors, paralegals, and administrative staff * Play a key role in shaping the future growth of the departmentAbout You * STEP Qualification (or working towards it) * Minimum 10 years' PQE in private client matters * Proven experience managing complex wills, probate, estate planning, and powers of attorney * Ability to manage your own caseload independently * Experience supervising and mentoring junior colleagues * Strong interpersonal, communication, and business development skills * Vision, leadership, and enthusiasm to build a successful departmentWhat's on Offer * Salary of £80,000 - £100,000 (DOE) * Hybrid working with office and remote flexibility * Leadership role with clear growth and partnership prospects * Excellent administrative and managerial support * 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure * Bonus structure linked to performance and departmental successIf you are an ambitious solicitor with a passion for Private Client law and a desire to lead a growing department, we would be delighted to hear from you.Sellick Partnership is proud to be an inclusive and accessible recruitment business and we support applications from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.
