We are looking for Adult Support Workers to join our team and provide day-to-day support for service users within Hertfordshire County Council Supported Living Units.About the RoleYou will support people in their daily activities, enabling independence and promoting choice, inclusion, and citizenship. This service provides emotional and physical support to individuals from different care groups, including:Adults with complex physical and/or learning disabilitiesPeople with age-associated needsYour aim will be to assist people to learn or maintain daily living skills to enable independence as far as possible.Key ResponsibilitiesWork as part of a small team to provide personal care and activities tailored to individual needsSupport clients with personal care, social, emotional, recreational, and learning needs in line with care plansProvide emotional support, companionship, and a safe environmentAssist with mobility, including use of equipmentOrganise and deliver therapeutic and recreational activities to enhance wellbeingDevelop personal activity plans and assist in events, ensuring health and safety, comfort, and enjoymentProvide assistance with eating and drinkingAdminister medication (training provided)Carry out basic first aid when requiredPromote equality and treat everyone with fairness and dignityReport any concerns about abuse or welfare to the service managerUndertake other duties as directed by the line managerA Typical Shift Includes:Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management PlansPersonal care, moving & handling, hoistingAssisting with mealsSocial interaction and companionshipCleaning and household tasksCompleting paperworkTraining & SupportFull training and annual refresher training provided and paid for by Guidant GlobalWhat We're Looking ForAbility to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written)Compassionate, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skillsExperience in care support roles preferredAbility to work as part of a team and under pressureCommitment to promoting independence and dignityAccess to transport is essential to travel to Borehamwood and other Hertfordshire sites if required.If you are passionate about supporting adults and want a role that truly makes a difference, apply today and join our team
