SEN Teacher – Autism & Communication Needs Location: Sunderland Start: ASAP or after half-term Contract: Full-time, long-term Pay: £140 to £220 per day (PAYE)If you love crafting lessons that spark confidence, curiosity, and connection for autistic learners, this one could be your perfect match. We’re supporting a specialist Sunderland setting that provides calm routines, brilliant pastoral support, and a team who genuinely care about getting it right for every young person.What you’ll be doing: Teaching a class of KS3/KS4 pupils with autism and communication needs Using structure, visuals, and purposeful routines to support understanding Working closely with TAs, therapists, and senior staff Creating a safe, predictable, and uplifting classroom environment Celebrating the small wins that feel huge What we’re looking for: QTS or QTLS Experience within SEND, or a real passion for it A gentle, patient teaching style Confidence adapting work to different communication levels What you’ll get from Protocol Education: Weekly PAYE pay FREE online CPD, including autism awareness and behaviour support A consultant who knows SEND and listens Smooth, supportive onboarding If you’re happiest when helping learners feel understood and valued, we’d love to chat.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
