SEN Teacher (Primary) – Full Time Location: Sunderland Contract: Full-time, term-time (with potential for fixed-term or permanent) Start date: ASAPRole overview Join a vibrant specialist primary setting where pupils with autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and learning difficulties thrive. As an SEN Teacher, you’ll be instrumental in designing meaningful learning experiences that help each child feel seen, supported and successful.Role duties Plan, deliver and evaluate creative learning activities suited to pupils with SEND. Work alongside teaching assistants, therapists and external partners to support each child’s development. Use positive behaviour management, communication tools and sensory strategies to support emotional and behavioural needs. Engage parents and carers as partners to support progress and wellbeing. Contribute to the school’s vision of inclusion, independence and lifelong learning. Essential criteria QTS or QTLS. Significant experience in a specialist or SEND primary environment is highly desired. Ability to adapt teaching to a range of learning styles and complex needs. Excellent interpersonal, planning and reflective skills. A calm, resilient and committed professional who values every child’s potential.
