Role Overview / Day in the LifePosition: Quality Planner (Project Quality Engineer)Focus: Works on long-term projects (4–5 years before production)Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in meetings with cross-functional teams (engineering, suppliers, internal stakeholders)Lead advanced quality planning activities: Proficient in FMEA, Control Plans, SPCCreate inspection instructionsDesign and check fixtures; collaborate with toolmakersOversee quality team: 3 Quality Planners (each supported by a Quality Specialist)2 Quality Technicians (hands-on roles)Support safety testing (, TRW Autoliv)Skills & ExperienceStrong ability to influence andmunicate effectively in meetingsConfident in escalating issues and driving decisionsAutomotive experience preferred (not essential)Proven engineering background with New Product Introduction (NPI) experienceMinimum 5 years’ experience and an engineering degreeFamiliarity with: IQFMEAControl plans (currently Excel-based)Moving away from Excel-based processesThe Quality Planner defines specifications—requires strong technical understanding.Benefits:Access to a subsidised restaurantHays Go1 training platform which offers a library of over 70,000 courses.Access to Ben – Offers support across a wide range of topics such as mental health well-being, financial or legal matters.Local retail and restaurant discounts35 days annual leave (Including bank holidays)What next?If you are interested in this role, click ‘apply now’ to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now on 0116 261 5001. #4752203 - Jane Pretty
