Description Kenton Black are recruiting for a permanent Estimator vacancy based in North East Scotland. Our client, a reputable civils and building contractor with a strong presence across the North East, is seeking a commercially astute and detail-driven Estimator to support their expanding tendering team. With a diverse portfolio spanning infrastructure, groundworks, and building projects, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity—with a competitive salary of £45,000–£55,000 per annum DOE. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and building projects from first principles- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tender submissions- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations- Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required- Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities within tenders- Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure alignment of cost and delivery strategies- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries What You Bring: - Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering and/or building sectors- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness Why This Role?
