Are you passionate about supporting families affected by domestic abuse—helping children and their parents heal, connect, and move forward?
We're looking for a compassionate and creative Family Support Officer to join our team. Based in the NDADA refuge and safe houses, you'll work directly with children, young people, and their parents to support emotional recovery, strengthen relationships, and build confidence through structured activities, parenting support, and advocacy.
Working alongside the Family Wellbeing Worker and the wider refuge and outreach team, you'll take a holistic, trauma-informed approach to family wellbeing.
About You:
You'll bring experience supporting families affected by domestic abuse, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. You're confident working with partner agencies and committed to advocating for the needs and safety of every child. You're empathetic, proactive, and deeply committed to helping families recover from the trauma of domestic abuse.
You'll also have:
Excellent communication and case management skills Knowledge of the local support network and referral pathways A collaborative, creative, resilient, and flexible working style Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skillsThis post is restricted to female applicants only as a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
