Milk Education is partnering with this SEND provision to recruit an Autism Classroom Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. About the school… It is a purpose-built SEND school serving children aged 4 to 18. Their students often have complex and multiple learning disabilities, speech, language & communication needs, and physical or sensory requirements. They are committed to overcoming barriers to progress through: Specialist, skilled teaching and a well-resourced curriculum Strong multi-agency collaboration and partnership with parents/carers Focusing on communication — staff build trusting relationships that help learners express thoughts, ideas, and feelings with confidence Working at this school means being part of a community where every child matters and staff have the chance to contribute meaningfully to each pupil’s journey. Role: Autism Classroom Support Assistant In this role, you will work closely with the Class Teacher and the wider team to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and day-to-day needs. Key Responsibilities Follow all school policies and procedures Assist with feeding, personal care, and hygiene support as required Support the Class Teacher in delivering lessons — adapt tasks, maintain pupil engagement, scaffold learning Support behaviour management in line with school approaches Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, enabling them to express themselves Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables) Recent, relevant experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities — in educational or care settings Comfortable providing personal care (e.g. feeding, hygiene) Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent under pressure Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team A caring, flexible and resilient approach Why work with Milk Education We’ll support your application if you wish to transition into a permanent role Free lesson plan resources to ease your workload 24/7 access to your personal consultant Training and professional development support We’re an eco-friendly, purpose-driven agency with a mission to be the most rewarding agency to work both with and for If you’re ready to make a real difference in a specialist setting and be part of a team that champions every child’s voice, we’d love to hear from you.
