🏥 Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS Learning Disabilities 📍 Location: Avon & Wiltshire 📅 Contract: 3–6 months (with likely extension) 💼 Start Date: ASAP 💷 Competitive hourly rate (negotiable, outside IR35) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established CAMHS Learning Disabilities team in the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. 🔍 Role Overview: You will be working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychiatric input for children and adolescents with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated mental health needs. The service takes a holistic, family-centered approach and values collaborative working with social care, education, and community paediatrics. 🧠 Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and reviews Contribute to MDT care planning and risk management Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medication in line with NICE guidance Provide leadership and clinical guidance to the team Participate in case conferences and safeguarding meetings as appropriate Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching if desired 📌 Requirements: Full GMC registration with specialist registration in Psychiatry (Learning Disability or CAMHS) Section 12 and Approved Clinician status (or willingness to obtain) Experience working with children with learning disabilities and complex neurodevelopmental disorders Excellent communication and leadership skills 🕐 Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (part-time or flexible options may be considered) 10 PA’s ⭐ Why work with us?
