We are seeking a dedicated individual to work within our large team of enthusiastic and nurturing support staff, providing vital support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) during the school day, and leading specific sporting activities during lunchtimes and after school as part of our wider PE provision.Working HoursThis is a full-time position, 5 days a week (term time only), with daily hours of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.Time Allocation:LSA Support (in class, SEN focus) - 9:00 AM – Lunch Break.Activity Facilitation (Leading Sporting Activities & Supervision) - Lunch Break (when you are not having yours).LSA Support (in class, SEN focus) - Post-Lunch – 3:30 PM.After-School Club Support (Leading Sporting Activities) - 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM. The Successful Applicant Will:The successful applicant will prioritise building strong relationships with children and adults and will have an enthusiasm and love of learning to share with the children.Working under the direction of the class teacher and in collaboration with the PE Team, the successful applicant will:Lead Activity Sessions: Be responsible for organising and leading specific sporting activities on the playground during lunchtimes, and running/supporting after-school sports clubs (3:30 PM – 4:30 PM). This role contributes to our overall PE provision.Support SEN: Provide dedicated support to children with Special Educational Needs (emotional well-being as well as academic) through our broad and balanced curriculum during class time.Be flexible and adaptable in meeting the needs and interests of our children.Have high expectations and determination to help children achieve their very best.Skills & ExperienceFor this role, you will need to have good literacy and numeracy skills, as well as be passionate to motivate children to do their best. Crucially, you must demonstrate a passion for sport and motivating children through physical activity. You will be enthusiastic, understanding, and supportive, and be able to build positive relationships with children, while establishing consistent boundaries. A willingness to work as part of a team, as well as taking your own initiative when leading activities, is essential.
