They endeavour to create a safe environment that is homely and nurturing, enabling positive relationships to be formed and for children and young people in their care to make progress in all areas of their development.JOB PURPOSETo join a team offering a comprehensive residential service for young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour aged between 10-18 years. Our aim being to ensure the physical, social, emotional care and development of the young people.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- To join a team of residential care staff ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are always maintained.- To support the Manager in all aspects of the homes operation, whilst maintaining positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the home.- To provide a safe, warm, and supportive environment to our residents whilst being involved in the planning and organisation of the home.- To maintain a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and assist in the publication of reports when required.- To attend review and planning meetings when required.- To assist with the process of development, implementation, and review of service policy.- To ensure when on shift that care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the home in line with Policy documents and care plans.- To delegate tasks to residential care staff and co-ordinate the daily routines of the home and participate in household duties such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.- To delegate tasks to residential care staff and participate in the general activities of the home such as cycling, swimming, walking, playing games and to use any personal skills you may have to maximise opportunity for each resident.- To attend regular supervision sessions, staff meetings and training sessions as required.- To accept responsibility for such monies as may be required in the carrying out of your duties- To administer medication to children as required and complete all related paperwork and records.- To undertake sleeping in duties as required.- To comply with and adherence to the policies, procedures, and practice of the home and to respond to emergencies which may arise within the service.- To provide a positive role model for colleagues and the young people resident.BENEFITS28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) Pension with NEST PensionsEmployee Referral SchemeAccess to Sage Employee Benefits24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Program24/7 access to an OnDemand GP ServiceEnrolment and funding to required qualification(s)Access to Key Worker Discount Schemes e.g. Blue Light Card
