Job description Teaching AssistantProspero Teaching is proud to be supporting a nurturing and inclusive Primary school near Newbury, in the recruitment of a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils from Year 1-6. The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils learning, progress, and wellbeing. You will assist with delivering learning activities and help create a positive and focused classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting individual pupils and small groups within the classroom Assisting teachers with planning and delivering learning activities Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils social development Helping to maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom atmosphere Building positive relationships with pupils to support their confidence and engagement Contract Details:Location: Berkshire (near Newbury) Position: Teaching Assistant Primary School Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Permanent or long-term supply (with potential for permanent placement) Working Hours: 8:30am , Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience We Welcome Applications From: Experienced Teaching Assistants or those with a background in education support Candidates with a patient, friendly, and reliable approach Individuals passionate about supporting childrens learning and development Applicants eager to contribute positively to a vibrant school community Requirements: Experience working with children in a school or similar environment A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting pupils Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete) Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Two professional child-related references What We Offer: Free accredited CPD including Safeguarding and Behaviour Management Ongoing support from Prosperos specialist Training and Development Team Opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive school environment A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners
