Senior Occupational Therapist Salary: £35 - £36 / Hour Job type: Day to Day CoverLocation: London Save Share Apply now Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care – South London Contract: Full-time | Initial 3–6 months with potential for extension A local authority in South West London is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Social Care team. The service promotes independence, resilience and wellbeing, supporting adults to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. As a Senior OT, you will lead on complex assessments, provide supervision to colleagues, and support the development of high-quality, strengths-based practice across the team. Main Duties:Undertake and oversee complex Occupational Therapy assessments, including reablement and Care Act assessmentsLead on discharge planning, equipment provision, and complex adaptationsLeadership and supervision of up to 8 Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Community Care Officers, ensuring professional governance and high service performance.Mentorship and role modelling, supporting colleagues through advice, quality assurance, guidance, and promoting collaborative problem-solving for optimal citizen outcomes.Expertise in complex assessments and care and support planning, particularly where safety is impacted by equipment or adaptation needs, supporting less experienced practitioners.Active contributor to service development, driving best practice in social care through proactive engagement and innovation.Provide professional supervision, guidance and support to OTs, unregistered staff and studentsCarry out moving and handling risk assessments and ensure safe, effective practiceContribute to safeguarding investigations, multi-agency planning, and risk managementManage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring statutory requirements and service priorities are metPromote service development and best practice within Adult Social CareSupport training, CPD activities and peer learning within the OT teamRequirements:Diploma/BSc in Occupational TherapyHCPC RegistrationMinimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in Adult Social Care or Community OTProven ability to manage complex cases and discharge planningExperience supervising or mentoring colleagues/studentsStrong knowledge of moving and handling and complex adaptationsEnhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)Eligibility to work in the UKDriving licence and access to a vehicle desirableBenefits:Ongoing training and CPD (including monthly protected CPD time)Professional supervision and structured career progression opportunitiesSupportive multi-disciplinary team environmentFlexible working opportunitiesCompetitive hourly ratesWhy Join Our Agency?
