NAV/Business Central Developer

Robert Half have partnered on a retained basis with ELTA Group as part of their continued UK growth in 2025. They are looking to recruit a NAV/Business Central Developer on a permanent basis - supporting their investment in business systems modernisation in 2026. Job Purpose:We are seeking support for the migration of multiple on-premises and cloud installations of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central (BC) into a unified BC Cloud solution as part of a global upgrade initiative.Key Responsibilities:A strong understanding of software architecture and programming conceptsAbility to analyse and interpreting user requirements to technical specifications and designing solutionsDesign and develop custom AL extensions, including pages, reports, and code units, to meet business needsBuild and support integrations between NAV, Business Central and other applications using APIs, web services (REST, OData) and data exchange frameworksUpgrade legacy NAV systems to Business Central, ensuring minimal disruption and improved functionalityTroubleshoot functional and technical issues, identifying root causes and delivering effective solutionsOptimise performance and ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews and best practice developmentQualifications & Experience:Strong communication skills and ability to manage client expectations effectivelyLogical problem solver with great attention to detailSkills & Competencies:Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support for Dynamics 365 Business Central and legacy NAV systemsStrong hands-on development experience with Dynamics NAV and Business Central (AL and C/AL)Excellent understanding of BC functionality across finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and warehousingDeep understanding of NAV and Business Central's architecture, including tables, pages, and data structureProficiency in programming languagesExperience with APIs, web services, and integrating Business Central with other platformsFamiliarity with development tools like Visual Studio Code and version control systems such as GitKeep up to date with the latest BC features, tools and development practicesSalary/Logistics:Dependent on experience Flexible working - onsite once a fortnight Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
