Learning and Behaviour Mentor  Based in Colchester Job Duties: Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs and Social emotional mental health needs in a specialist provision. Implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategiesAssist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environmentSupport students in developing social skills and emotional regulationManage challenging behaviour effectively and de-escalate situations when necessaryCollaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students Required Qualifications: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviourKnowledge of SEND Code of Practise and safeguarding procedures Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathsPrevious experience in a similar role within an educational settingUnderstanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support studentsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situationsA background in sports would be desirable.  Working Conditions: Work primarily within a school setting, - 3:30pm Monday-FridayFull-time hours with occasional flexibility required All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
