Shift Pattern: Days and night shifts available, including weekdays and weekends, as part of a flexible rota.
Responsibilities
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed locum doctors at the ST3 level to join our Paediatrics and Neonates team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in managing a wide range of paediatric and neonatal conditions in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality care to paediatric and neonatal patients, including initial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
* Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and the acute management of unwell children and neonates.
* Assist in stabilisation and transfer of critically ill neonates or paediatric patients as required.
* Communicate effectively with families and caregivers, providing clear explanations and updates on patient care.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
* Participate in teaching, audits, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Skills
* Clinical Knowledge: Sound understanding of paediatric and neonatal medicine, including acute and chronic care management.
* Decision-Making: Ability to assess and manage a range of paediatric and neonatal conditions, including emergencies.
* Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with families, caregivers, and colleagues.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a diverse caseload and respond to rapidly changing clinical situations.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy clinical environment.
* Commitment to Learning: Enthusiasm for professional development and participation in teaching and audit activities.
* NHS Experience: Familiarity with NHS systems and protocols is highly desirable.
