Surfacing Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Road Surfacing Supervisor to join our team in West Glasgow.
Role Responsibility
As a Road Surfacing Supervisor you will have worked in a similar industry and will have blacktop experience and experience of working on Road Surface contracts using aggregates and asphalts. Other responsibilities for the role of Road Surfacing Supervisor include:
·Managing surfacing schemes across the whole of the business areas, both on the motorway and local network
·Communicating effectively daily with gang/ Foreman by carrying out daily briefings and through on-site presence
·Managing on-site paperwork and other relevant administration tasks in line with our Business Management System
·Supervise operations to ensure works are completed to the highest standard, complying with contract specification and preventing remedial action. Identify works outside contract scope to Surfacing Manager / QS
·Optimising cost control and operational efficiency to achieve agreed budget
·Motivating staff and workforce to achieve the highest level of performance
·Ensuring Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to by all on site at all times
·Develop and maintain Customer relationships
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Road Surfacing Supervisor will be able to demonstrate proven experience of working within a similar working environment. Suitable candidates for the role of Road Surfacing Supervisor will:
·Have ideally obtained a CSCS qualification
·Have ideally SMSTS (minimum SSSTS)
·Have experience in asphalts and road laying
·Ideally be experienced in project work - ideally on motorways
·Have experience of supervising and developing a team
·Be a good communicator
·Have experience of engaging with people of varying seniority levels both internally and externally
·Be knowledgeable and adhere to company Health and Safety policies and procedures
·Be flexible in their working approach (there will be an element of night-time working and weekend work)
·Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
·Be motivated
