A nurturing and inclusive school based in Wandsworth, London that I work with are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors to join their dedicated team. These are long-term positions with the view to becoming permanent for the right candidates.

Position 1: SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and emotional development of students with special and complex needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing tailored support to children with diverse needs across all lessons and subjects.
Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
Encouraging independence and confidence in students' learning journeys.
Adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each child.

What we're looking for:

A resilient and empathetic individual who remains professional under pressure.
Someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Flexibility to support various subjects and adjust to different teaching methods.
Previous experience in SEN or a related field is advantageous but not essential.

Position 2: Behaviour Mentor

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will focus on supporting students with challenging behaviour, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging personal growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting children with behavioural challenges to access their education.
Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Building strong, trusting relationships with students to understand and meet their needs.
Working collaboratively with teachers and parents to ensure consistency in approach.

What we're looking for:

A confident, resilient individual who can handle challenging situations calmly.
Someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
Prior experience in a similar role is a plus but not mandatory.
