We are currently supporting an established business based in South Birmingham with their search for an Assistant Accountant. You will be joining a dynamic, finance-driven team that is focused on business growth and improving operational performance. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accountant to bring their commercial expertise to the table and actively contribute to the financial health of the business.
This position comes with an annual salary of £35,000.00.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with key stakeholders, ensuring strong financial and operational decisions are made while managing financial risks and opportunities.
Attend client and site meetings to stay aligned with business objectives.
Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to aid business unit decision-making and ensure financial risks and opportunities are identified and acted upon.
Ensure balance sheet maintenance and highlight any associated risks.
Prepare key financial reports, including month-end reports, business reviews, budgets, and cash analysis for monthly reviews with senior stakeholders.
Assist in training operational teams to understand financial reporting and improve performance.
Perform monthly balance sheet reviews, escalating key risks and opportunities as necessary.
Actively manage working capital through timely contract billing and debt resolution.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate consolidation and variance analysis.Candidate Experience, Skills and Attributes:
Actively pursuing a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification.
Strong management accounting experience, including the production of reports and analysis for commercial decision-making.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex financial information concisely to both finance and non-finance audiences.
Analytical with excellent attention to detail.
Adaptable to changing environments and priorities.
Proficient in Excel.Benefits Include:
