Start date: JanuaryVeritas Education have an amazing opportunity at an OFSTED 'outstanding' school that are looking to hire a teaching assistant for a KS1 classroom for the beginning of the academic year. This could be the ideal role for a graduate seeking teaching experience before teacher training or an experienced teaching assistant looking to further their career in a growing and thriving organisation. The successful teaching assistant will:

* Have the highest ambitions for our pupils, the school and yourself as a teaching assistant

* Have a calm and professional manner with our pupils

* Be prepared to lead and support small groups of pupils independently

The school are a 2 form entry with supportive staff across the year group that are happy to assist new teaching assistants to settle into their new setting. Furthermore, its closely located to a tube station and offers parking for all long term staff.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEACHING ASSISTANT

Teaching Assistant support for Pupils

Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacherTeaching Assistant Support for Teachers

Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will be
Monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately record and feedback to the teacher as directedQUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHING ASSISTANT

Desirable for a teaching assistant
