Job summary As a Trust we are Birmingham and Solihull's largest employer, with 24,000+ permanent staff and 6,000+ on our internal staff bank.

Recognising the importance of this department, we are expanding our People team across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the creation of a Band 7 People Partner role.We are seeking a People Partner with the enthusiasm and ambition to match ours.

You will be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge in the field of employee relations, showing evidence of keeping up to date with legislative changes and maintaining your continuous professional development.
You will be innovative, team-focused, and able to demonstrate how you follow the just culture principles in your approach.
Main duties of the job You will first and foremost be focused on the individual rather than process, whilst ultimately ensuring that patient care is protected and upheld.
You will also be keen to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple conflicting demands and pressures, whilst continuing to provide leadership to the team and managing a caseload of complex HR issues.As a flexible employer, UHB can offer hybrid working to include cross site and home with hours of work to suit service delivery and a healthy work life balance.The primary base for this role will be at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where regular attendance on site is required, however travel will be required across all the Trust sites including Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull as well as home working.Please note the interviews will take place in person on Monday 23 December 2024 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.Interested?

Person Specification Qualifications Essential * Graduate CIPD Level 7 (Chartered Institute of Personnel and development) or equivalent post graduate level qualification/training/experience to master's level or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent experience.
Experience Essential * Extensive experience in employee relations / generalist HR role, providing advice and support on complex cases involving safeguarding issues, suspensions and discrimination claims.
* Experience of leading and managing a team.
* Recent experience of working in a large complex unionised organisation.
* Experience of change management/ consultation and working in partnership with Trade unions * Up to date and thorough working knowledge of Employment Law and Human Resource Best Practice * Knowledge and understanding of the full range of HR and HR policy issues and best practice.
* Knowledge of legislation relating to Equality & Diversity particularly Gender, Race & Disability * Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults & Children.
