Do you enjoy supporting your colleagues and helping them develop their clinical skills?

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and forward-thinking community team, as Team Leader in North-West locality. You will work as an integral part of our management team with dedicated time of 1 day a week to line manage approx. 10 staff. You will also have 2 days clinical work within NW locality, most likely as part of the schools team.

This is an opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills contributing to developing a Balanced System in Birmingham in order to improve and advocate for services to children with SLCN in our large multicultural city.

You will provide Speech and Language Therapy at a highly specialist level, functioning in partnership with other agencies and disciplines to support in the holistic assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people known to the service.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of a team of SLT staff comprising of bands 4 to 7

You will develop strong and effective working relationships with colleagues using highly developed interpersonal skills

Supporting the Professional Leads and Service Clinical Manager in the development and implementation of an appropriate training programme for members of the team across the locality, using information from appraisals and personal development plans

Taking a role in the local implementation and monitoring of clinical supervision/ practice support systems in line with relevant policies and procedures.

Assisting the Service Clinical Manager and Professional Leads in the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff, as required.

Managing staff performance/disciplinary matters within the designated team, with support from the Service Operational Manager.
