Job summary We are seeking to recruit a high calibre, newlyqualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.

One day a week is available tocomplete continuing professional development (CPD) and facilitate specifictraining in evidence-based therapies to a professionally accredited standard.After a minimum of two years from appointment and the completion of settargets, the successful applicant will have the opportunity for promotion toAgenda for Change Band 8a.The successful candidate will join a team of PractitionerPsychologists, Psychological Therapists and Assistant Psychologists, providingPsychological assessments and evidence-based therapies to Adults within NorthEast Lincolnshire.
The Psychology team work closely with colleagues acrossNavigo, providing Psychological consultancy, support and guidance.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be embedded into theCommunity Psychology service, alongside other Psychological professionals,delivering therapies to service users referred to the Psychology department.Thedepartment receive referrals for a range of mental health disorders, such asPost-traumatic Stress Disorder, Personality Disorder, Bipolar, Depression andAnxiety Disorders, so the candidate will develop a variety of therapeuticskills and work towards accreditation in evidence-based therapies.
Thecandidate may be required to conduct psychometric investigations ofneuropsychological difficulties, supporting colleagues with formulation andtreatment planning.
Other duties may include attending MDT's, being involved in the trainingof non-Psychology staff, as part of the organisations Community Mental Healthtransformation strategy, and also providing supervision to other Psychologyprofessionals and occasionally other mental health professionals across theorganisation.

- Formulates plans for specialist psychological therapyand/or management of clients mental health conditions based upon anappropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice.
Negotiates theimplementation of such plans with clients and/or their carers.
- Implements a range of specialist psychologicaltherapies for individual clients, carers, families and groups, adjusting andrefining psychological formulations as required.
- Evaluates therapy options and makes decisions abouttreatment.
- Provides specialist psychological advice, guidance andconsultation to other staff contributing directly to clients diagnosis,formulation and intervention plan.
- Responsible for recognising the potential for or signsof client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reportingall such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client.Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguardingof children who may be at risk.
- Undertakes risk assessment and risk management forindividual clients and provides specialist advice to other professionals onpsychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
AdministrativeResponsibilities.
- Required at times to undertake administrative tasks inrelation to own work.
- Uses Microsoft Office applications on a daily basis.
Responsibilityfor information systems.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensivepatient/client records using SYSTMONE in accordance with the organisational andprofessional record keeping standards.
- Writes reports for other members of themultidisciplinary team and external parties regarding patient/client relatedmatters.
- Uses psychometric testing and associated softwarepackages.
- May use software packages for statistical analysis.
Responsibility for Planning/Organising & Strategic/BusinessDevelopment - Organises own workload on a day-to-day basis,prioritising work as appropriate.
- Assists in the allocation of work to assistant andtrainee psychologists.
- Plans individual patient/client care and acts as careco-ordinator/lead practitioner, where appropriate, ensuring the provision of amultidisciplinary care package appropriate for the clients needs.
Policy Development - Ensures that new or revised policies and procedures arecommunicated effectively to assistant, trainee and newly qualifiedpsychologists and put into practice.
- Pro-active in identifying and proposing changes tolocal procedures and working practices in own area and plays a significant rolein implementation.
Service Development, Project Management - Pro-active in identifying and proposing safety, qualityand service improvements within own work area.
- Participates in the development, monitoring andevaluation of service improvements in own area.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical / counselling psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
HCPC registration as a clinical/counselling psychologist Trained in care co-ordination (within agreed timescale) Evidence of continuing professional development Desirable Post-graduate qualification showing evidence of supervised practice in an evidence-based psychological therapeutic model Registration with BPS Trained in clinical supervision (within agreed timescale) Experience Essential Must have experience/interest in working with serious mental illness cohorts Multi-disciplinary team working Desirable Experience of CBT, DBT, EMDR and other evidence-based therapies Experience in conducting cognitive assessments in memory and intellect.
Experience of group therapy Experience of research and audit Skills & Attributes Essential Communicate complex and highly sensitive information effectively, to a wide range of people Adapt creatively the evidence base for interventions in mental health for clients with communication difficulties / learning disabilities.
Provide (within agreed timescale) effective teaching, training and clinical supervision Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake care co-ordination/lead practitioner responsibilities Utilise psychometric tests competently Able to work in accordance with the organisations values and ethos.
